Consistent EPS Beat
AT&T Inc. (T) has consistently exceeded earnings per share (EPS) estimates in the last several quarters, with reported EPS often surpassing analyst expectations (e.g., Q2 2025: reported 0.51 vs. estimate 0.49; Q1 2025: reported 0.54 vs. estimate 0.50).
Reasonable P/E Ratio
The trailing twelve-month (TTM) P/E ratio of 15.95 is competitive, especially considering the company's market capitalization and industry. The annual P/E ratio for 2024 is 14.4, and for 2023 is 13.9, indicating potentially attractive valuation compared to historical periods or peers.
Elevated Quarterly P/S Ratio
The Price-to-Sales (P/S) ratio for Q1 2025 is 6.5, and for Q4 2024 is 4.9. While the annual P/S ratios are lower (1.3 for 2024, 1.6 for 2023), these higher quarterly figures might suggest a premium being placed on recent revenues that could be difficult to sustain.
Negative Net Margin in Q3 2024
AT&T Inc. reported a negative net margin of -0.6% in Q3 2024, indicating a temporary period of unprofitability despite positive revenue. While overall annual net margins are positive, this quarterly dip warrants attention.
